Scotland’s leading international charities have been collaborating for several years to help some of the world’s most vulnerable communities to survive and recover from the worst humanitarian disasters.  Supported by the Scottish Government’s Humanitarian Emergency Fund (HEF) they respond not only to high profile crises like Gaza but other huge crises which rarely make the headlines.

As the Fund’s annual report is published, come and hear about the impact of the HEF from its independent Chair, Frances Guy, the head of Christian Aid in Scotland, Val Brown and Nadeem Baqir, Scotland Manager for Islamic Relief.  As well as updating on their continuing efforts in Gaza, they will explain their partnership approaches to saving lives in and around Sudan and how they are implementing more effective responses to climate related crises in Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
