Salma Yusuf is a human rights, justice and governance professional from Sri Lanka. She is Draftsperson and Process Manager/Lead for Sri Lanka’s first National Policy on Reconciliation that was adopted and approved by the Government of Sri Lanka in 2017. She has been involved in the development of the National Human Rights Action Plan of Sri Lanka, and constitutional reform process. Previously, she was National Policy Consultant at the United Nations Development Program and a Policy Consultant at Sri Lanka’s National Policy on Social Integration. She has previously served in full-time positions at the United Nations Development Programme and the Canadian International Development Agency in Sri Lanka. She is also an academic who has been lecturer in law and human rights, a researcher published in scholarly journals nationally and internationally, a media professional and columnist. Salma has a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Queen Mary University of London with a specialization in Public International Law and Human Rights and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) from University of London. She is Fellow of South Asia Democratic Forum, Brussels and Professional Associate, Institute of Governance and Policy Analysis, University of Canberra.
