Ian Edwards is the current head of the exhibitions and events team at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE). With a degree in Ecology and PhD in woodland conservation, he has had project experience in countries including but not limited to Malawi, Indonesia and Cameroon. He also has been responsible for developing over thirty exhibitions including ‘Living in a Rainforest (a year in the Borneo Rainforest)’, ‘Plantweave’ and ‘From Another Kingdom: the Amazing World of Fungi’, among others.

Ian has carried out interpretation master planning for the RBGE and botanic gardens in Bhutan and Oman. He also represents RBGE on the Scottish Government’s Biodiversity Communications group.
