Sir Harold Matthew Evans is a journalist and writer who was the previous editor of The Sunday Times. After completing national service in the Royal Air Force, he studied at Durham University. He became editor of the Manchester Evening News and then received a Harkness Fellowship to travel and study in the United States. During his time as editor of the Sunday Times, he increased investigative reporting. His work, The American Century, won critical acclaim. He has won various awards and in 2015 he was awarded the Kraszna-Krausz Foundation’s Outstanding Contribution to Publishing Award.
