Paul van Zyl served as the Executive Secretary of South Africa’s post-apartheid Truth and Reconciliation Committee, and is the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of The Conduit, a creative and entrepreneurial hub launched last summer that connects thinkers, leaders and innovators in social change, business and the arts to force impact for the greater good. In 2001, he co-founded the International Centre for Transitional Justice, an international human rights organisation that works in over 40 countries that have endured massive human rights violations under repression and conflict. Mr van Zyl served as the Director of New York University School of Law’s Transitional Justice Program for 15 years and for 5 years, he was a visiting Professor of Law at the National University of Singapore. In 2009, Mr van Zyl was awarded the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship and was chosen as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, serving on its Global Agenda Council on Fragile States. He is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Maiyet, an ethical luxury fashion brand that cultivates traditional design and culture by partnering with global artisans, and most recently, he was announced as one of London Tech Week’s Top 30 Change Makers in 2018.
