Jolyon Mitchell is a professor with specialisation in religion, violence and peacebuilding. Professor Mitchell is particular interested in the role of the arts and he has published a broad range of books and articles within the field. He is currently professor at the University of Edinburgh and is frequently giving lectures at universities around the world, including the University of Tehran, Vrije University in Amsterdam and the University of Sydney. In addition, he is the Director of the Centre for Theology and Public Issues and President of the National Association for Theology and Religious Studies in the United Kingdom. Professor Mitchell has previously been a producer and journalist at BBC World service. Professor Mitchell is educated at Cambridge University, Durham University and the University of Edinburgh.
