John Kampfner is a British author, journalist and broadcaster specialising in international affairs, politics and human rights. He has held senior roles at the Financial Times and New Statesman, serving as Editor of the latter from 2000 to 2005.
A former foreign correspondent in Moscow and Berlin, he has reported extensively on global politics. He is the author of several books, including Blair’s Wars and Why the Germans Do It Better.
Kampfner has also worked as a presenter for BBC Radio 4 and the World Service, and regularly appears as a commentator on international issues. He is currently Executive Director at Chatham House and a former Chief Executive of Index on Censorship.
