Alternately, the Borders Railway is the longest new domestic railway to be built in over 100 years and it offers a direct and picturesque route from Edinburgh to the Scottish Borders. Take the Scot Rail Service from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley (leaves every five minutes). From Edinburgh Waverley, it is a one minute walk to North Bridge bus stop where you can take the X62 to Innerleithen (leaves every 20 minutes). From there, it is about a 15 minute walk from the bus stop to Traquair, or local taxi services are available.
