BEYOND BORDERS QUESTION TIME
Beyond Borders is looking for aspiring journalists to take part in the Beyond Borders International Festival 2019 which will take place on August 24th and 25th at Traquair House, Innerleithen.
About the Beyond Borders International Festival
The Festival welcomes a variety of local and international writers, diplomats, politicians and artists to the grounds of Traquair House in the Main Tent to engage in thought-provoking debate and dialogue. Alongside this programme, a tranquil space is created in the Walled Garden, which is full of music, exhibitions, theatre, film, workshops, yoga, meditation and much more.
About Beyond Borders Question Time
Beyond Borders Question Time is a youth focused initiative run during the Beyond Borders International Festival, aimed at engaging young people in the creative industries and international affairs. The initiative offers young journalists the opportunity to interview some of our headline speakers including journalists, diplomats, authors and historians.
Last year this included BBC Special Correspondent Razia Iqbal, Jodi Rudoren, the Managing Editor of The New York Times, and local figures such as Alyn Smith, MSP, who spoke impassionedly on Brexit and Scotland’s future in the European Union.
This year, we are opening six spots for young journalists to interview some of the festival speakers as part of our Walled Garden Music & Arts Programme. We are also accepting applications from a limited number of photographers and videographers.
The full programme of participants is available on the Beyond Borders International Festival page!
To apply to take part in this initiative please send your name, email and a short covering letter (max. 500 words) on why you would like to participate to info@beyondbordersscotland.com by 5pm on Friday 26th July.
