Ayesha Jalal is a Pakistani-American historian who was born in Pakistan. She studied at Wellesley College, USA and Trinity College, Cambridge. She now serves as the Mary Richardson Professor of History at Tufts University, and is one of the most prominent American academics who write on the history of South Asia. Her most recent book was ‘The Struggle for Pakistan’, published in 2014. Her book ‘The Pity of Partition’ in 2013 was one of Choice’s Outstanding Academic Titles for 2013.
