Margaretta Jolly is Reader in Cultural Studies and Director of the Centre for Life History and Life Writing Research at the University of Sussex. An enthusiast for and scholar of all forms of life narrative, she is editor of The Encyclopedia of Life Writing (2001, winner of an Outstanding Reference Book Award) and author of In Love and Struggle: Letters in Contemporary Feminism (2008, winner of the Feminist and Women’s Studies Association Book Prize UK, 2009). She also directed Sisterhood and After: The Women’s Liberation Oral History Project, in partnership with The British Library. Her most recent book is We Shall Bear Witness: Life Narratives and Human Rights (2014), which she co-edited with Dr. Meg Jensen.
