General Sir Mike Jackson is a former Chief of the General Staff and Head of the Army. He has commanded British forces in Iraq, UN forces in Kosovo and peacekeeping missions in Bosnia. He started his military career in the Intelligence Corps before transferring to the Parachute Regiment and serving in Northern Ireland. He also served as deputy to NATO Supreme Allied Commander in Europe and has published his autobiography, Soldier.
