Paul Conroy is a British freelance photographer and filmmaker who has worked extensively as a journalist in conflict zones across the Balkans, the Middle East and Libya. In 2011, he was shortlisted for the PRX Bayeux TV report and in 2012, he was seriously injured in an airstrike on his press group by Syrian government forces in which two fellow journalists were killed, including the renowned war correspondent Marie Colvin. Mr Conroy’s reflections on these experiences and others formed the core of his 2013 publication, ‘Under the Wire, Marie Colvin’s Final Assigment’ which has since been turned into a documentary.
