Professor Ali Watson OBE is Managing Director of the Third Generation Project (TGP) a think tank based at the University of St Andrews that focuses upon education for climate justice (www.thirdgenerationproject.org). Founded in 2016 with the aim of ‘doing academia differently’, TGP’s mission is to put the people most impacted by climate change at the heart of a progressive education agenda. Their approach is collaborative, working in partnership with key stakeholders to highlight the importance of a climate justice approach to climate action. In 2019 Ali received an OBE in the Queens Birthday Honours list for services to education.As of 1 September 2021, Ali will take over as Head of the School of International Relations at St Andrews, a department ranked first in the UK by the Guardian University Guide 2021.
